This neighborhood is mainly residential, with some cluster of factory buildings. Most residential buildings are of smaller flats, but more recent developments include luxury choices such as the waterfront development Larvotto (Ap Lei Chau) and the newly completed Marinella (Aberdeen).
Public transportation is mainly bus and minibus. MTR South Island Line will be completed in 2015. The journey from South Horizons at Ap Lei Chau to Admiralty will take about ten minutes.
